Seadoo Watercraft

Seadoo RXT 260

This meaty-sounding, three-seater jetski packs a punch for a good price. With aggressive handling and powerful acceleration, this jetski is good for a rider looking for a solid, possibly heavier, grunty machine with a powerful engine that is suitable for touring.

The SeaDoo RXT-260 has all the standard seadoo jetski features – a flowing hull design for maximum speed and control, a hinged seat with storage underneath, a Supercharged Intercooled Rotax 4-TEC engine, ski tow eye, and panels for easy access to your battery and fuel tank to allow for easy hassle-free maintenance of your jet ski. The RTX models come in at about 383kg, so they aren't the heaviest, but they aren't a lightweight. The easy access to the battery is a boon, as it allows you to easily recharge your craft if the battery runs out.

The SeaDoo iTCtm (Intelligent Throttle Control) system is the most advanced throttle control on a PWC and features cruise control, neutral, slow mode, and a Variable Trim System for easier dockside starts and great manoeuvrability. The handling is smooth and gradual, and has a good 'feel' as you steer and accelerate the craft.

The control panel comes with a lot of necessary instrumentation, including a compass, GPS function, speedometer and a unique controlling program – the iControl Learning Keytm- which limits the performance of the SeaDoo based on rider skill-level and experience. This is perfect if you are buying a jet ski for a family, and you have younger members who might want to be learning to use it. This is also good for different experiences – whether you want to tour or race, you can take the stress out by setting the RXT to the mode you want, and can check sudden speed rises and falls. If you just want to cut loose, the RXT-260 has about the highest horsepower you will find in a PWC – it races along at a clipping max speed of 120km an hour.

The break system is intelligent and is designed to minimise hard shocks, so when you brake, it slows down in the water instead of stopping abruptly - exactly what you need if you're pushing this machine to its top speeds. Its brilliant for first time riders and seated riding. You won't be thrown over the bars or off the back when you have to break or turn, so rather than compromising the ride experience, it enhances it.

The SeaDoo RXT-260 has great, predictable handling, and comes with all the comforts and built in features you'd expect in a high-end sports car, except that they come with the price and so aren't really 'extras'. This is a great solid craft for anyone looking to get a jet ski that will last a long time and grow with them, from beginner to pro. This PWC has the advantage of being able to pace a learner from slow speeds to high performance, meaning that you aren't likely to bite off more than you can chew if you're new, while having the power and performance you want later down the track.
